While Neptune Beach may be the smallest of the seaside communities found in the Jacksonville area, it’s still a very desirable place to live. The community is known as an ideal choice for walking with shopping, dining and entertainment options found all throughout. It’s a quiet area without much through traffic and it’s known for the clean, pet-friendly beach.
Real Estate in Neptune Beach
Homes found in Neptune Beach are mainly single-family residential homes. A few townhomes are found throughout the area, as well. Homes range in price from about $220K up to $1.8 million. The average price is just over $500K.
As a smaller community of just 2.5 square miles, Neptune Beach doesn’t offer a large number of neighborhoods. However, two neighborhoods worth mentioning are Secluded Woods and Neptune by the Sea.
Secluded Woods provides about 70 homes in a quiet area. It’s a great choice for beach living since it’s just a few blocks from the ocean. The homes located in these neighborhoods range from about 1,800 to 2,600 square feet and most were built between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s.
Neptune by the Sea provides a centrally located neighborhood filled with two to four bedroom homes. This neighborhood is also found just a few blocks from the beach and provides a bit of a more affordable option.
Things to Do in Neptune Beach
Neptune Beach isn’t a large community, so many of the things residents enjoy doing are found in surrounding communities. However, the town does provide Jarboe Park, which is a great place for gathering and enjoying outdoor activities. The park includes tennis courts, a fitness trail, a basketball court, a very large playground, duck ponds and beach volleyball courts.
A few very popular restaurants are found in Neptune Beach, but most of the best dining options are found in the neighborhood communities of Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach. Of course, the main attraction for the town is the beach itself, which is known as a very clean beach with favorable pet policies.
Living in Neptune Beach
As the smallest and the youngest of the seaside communities near Jacksonville, Neptune Beach gives residents a quiet place to call home. It’s close enough for commuters to work in Jacksonville or the surrounding area, while providing the unique advantages expected from a beach community. Those seeking a place close to the ocean and close to big city amenities will enjoy living in Neptune Beach.
